Multi-Sensory Learning: Becoming A Creative And Reflective Thinker
Course Description:
Multi-sensory learning techniques can teach students with a variety of learning styles how to become critical and flexible thinkers. These skills are necessary for students to succeed academically and in the workplace. Kinesthetic, visual, cognitive, spatial and verbal techniques of exploring academic subjects teach students how to be creative and innovative learners. In this course, educators will learn how to adapt their lessons to incorporate teaching creative and critical thinking skills while continuing to teach their curriculum. The research-based, classroom-tested techniques learned in this class can be used in math, science, the arts or humanities classes and can be taught to a wide range of ages. An emphasis on appreciative inquiry and strengths-based learning modalities will help students increase their self-confidence in the targeted subject. Educators will develop specific interventions to use in their classrooms based on their own curriculum and materials.
